Transformation Can Happen!

The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out... and set me in the middle of a valley;... I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" I said, "O Sovereign LORD, you alone know." Ezekiel 37: 1-3

Certainly, it is our Lord’s desire that every congregation fulfill the purpose for which Christ called us together: to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Indeed, the local congregation is both Christ’s and our Annual Conference’s primary strategy for reaching communities for Christ and impacting them for the Kingdom.

When congregational leaders are willing to join Christ is fulfilling His ministry purposes in their community... when congregational leaders are willing to make Christ’s purposes first even when tough choices have to be made, there is Hope indeed: Hope in the transforming power of the Holy Spirit!

Welcome our new Hispanic Director!!

Rev. Juan G. Feliciano

Hola! My name is Juan Feliciano. I am the new Hispanic Director for the office of Congregational Transformatoin at the FLUMC. I will be working with the Hispanic/Latino communities of faith, congregations, and new missions. My goal and challenge is to help train, form and transform the folks of the local churches and missions so they become radical disciples of Jesus Christ and servants of God to the world. My favorite verse is Romans 12:2: “Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. (The Message).

I am a learner and a facilitator for learning. I want to be transformed every day so I may learn what God expects of me. This is what I want for the Hispanic/Latino congregations and missions: new insights and learning processes so we may be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit to respond to God’s Calling for every day. “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24). I am here to serve you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
